The Overseas Pakistani Foundation was
established in 1979 under the Parliamentary Act on Immigration Ordinance. The
company became a public sector corporation managed by the Government of Pakistan.
The sole purpose of the Foundation was to protect Pakistanis abroad and the
welfare of their families there.
The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation is
responsible for monitoring all Pakistanis abroad and protecting their return
procedures through coordination with all relevant stakeholders. Emergencies or
natural disasters are also dealt with.
