Government Holdings Private Limited is
the fifth largest oil and gas exploration and production company in Pakistan.
GHPL is a holding company wholly owned by the government of Pakistan that
invests in exploration and production.
GHPL was incorporated in 2000 as a
private limited company under the Companies Ordinance 1984 (now the Companies
Act 2017). It is the third public sector oil and gas exploration company
operating under the Petroleum Division of the Pakistan Ministry of Energy.
The company was created to separate the
commercial and regulatory functions performed by the Ministry of Energy
(Petroleum Division). It operates as a non-operating partner for Coastal
Petroleum E&P joint ventures and holds an offshore oil license from the
Government of Pakistan.
It owns subsidiaries Interstate Gas
Systems (Private) Limited, Pakistan LNG Limited and Pakistan LNG Terminals
Limited. The company oversees and manages onshore and offshore operational
interests without compromising quality.
